Figure 1: Talent Management

Talent management is fundamental to the Human Resources Management concept because there can be no business development without human capital. Because every human being begins with different talents from birth and self-development, peers should use their best talent to achieve the best results.

What is a talent?

A person's talent is the sum of their abilities, which include their inherent gifts, skills, knowledge and experience, attitude, character, and drive (Amstrong.,2003).

Talent management process

  • Retain- Hiring the right skills and expecting them to do their best work for the company in the long run is not going to work. Organizations should focus on employee retention strategies, including giving gifts, categories, promotions and promotion opportunities to employees vertically and horizontally within the organization.
  • Recruitment- The selection process can have several stages depending on the type of job and the number of applicants who have applied for it. This process can include shortlisting, written tests, and face to face interviews. The final list candidate then goes to the negotiation stage to discuss his / her expected salary and benefits.
  • Perform- Measuring an employee's performance Identifying his or her true abilities is essential. The organization can test whether the individual can be assigned additional responsibilities.
  • Development- When the selected candidate joins the company and becomes an employee, he / she should develop his / her skills according to the job responsibilities. They also receive internal skills training to enhance their skills.

According to Armstrong, (2018) shows there are three factors relating to talent management that is mentioned below.

  • Alignment – the big picture of what the organization wants to accomplish.
  • Capability – organizational resources (wealth, market share, talents)
  • Engagement – employee energy level that affects the organization's ultimate goal.

In the modern era, business competition can have a greater impact on talent management, so various modern approaches have been implemented.

 Modern approaches of Talent management

  • A well-defined job description
  • A performance development plan
  • A performance appraisal
  • Brainstorming sessions
  • On the job trainings
  • Exit interviews

  • Employers can choose the most talented and skilled employees and then assign them to specialist tasks based on their abilities. (Can choose the right person at the right time for the right job.)
  • Employees are motivated by a talent management organization.
